Diane Schutz, Las Cruces
Diane Schutz, Music Director, has “established herself as one of the premier music educators in the Southwest” according to the New Mexico Musician magazine. Mrs. Schutz retired from LCPS after 27 years of teaching K-12 music. From 2006-2011 she served as Associate Director of choirs at NMSU, and is currently President of New Mexico’s division of the American Choral Director’s Association. Mrs. Schutz was the 2002 New Mexico Music Educator of the Year, and inducted into the NM Hall of Fame in 2006. She is a past recipient of the Dona Ana Arts Council’s Artist in Education Award. During her tenure at LCHS, her choirs performed at Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center, at their request. Mrs. Schutz currently directs a senior adult community choir- Good Time Singers, and is accompanist and organist for St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She is so excited to add J Paul Taylor Academy Music Consultant to her musical life!
